So about the job….

We are currently offering a fantastic opportunity for an engineering graduate to join our busy Quality team as a Graduate Quality Engineer. The candidate will work in the Quality department as a Quality Engineer.

Reporting to the quality manager you will be working towards having full responsibility for supporting new Product Introduction using Advanced Product Quality Planning – compilation of Failure Mode Effects Analysis and Production Part Approval Part submissions.

Working closely with our Customers and Xtrac’s Engineers, Foremen and Machinists you will learn to manage all quality related issues, by  implementing robust solutions and changes to manufacturing processes to improve quality and reduce waste.

 The role will involve maintaining the documented Quality Management System and undertaking projects, as determined by the Quality Manager, to include process enhancement, new processes and Manufacturing improvements that improve quality & efficiency. As well as supporting assessments of the quality management system when undertaken by customers and external certification bodies such as BSi Management systems.

The induction for the graduate engineer includes training in the Intranet based quality management system, Process mapping software and document control system, the company MRP system as well as a thorough introduction to the company’s design and manufacturing processes. Each graduate is assigned a mentor who is there to ensure that the transition from student to Quality Engineer is as seamless as possible.

What we need from you….

We are looking for Graduates with a minimum 2:1 BEng or BSc in an Engineering related discipline or equivalent, ideally including a module covering Quality.

Work experience within a Quality Team and Student Membership of the CQI are desirable but not essential.

You should have excellent communication skills to enable you to forge solid working relationships throughout Xtrac. Good organisation and IT skills are a pre-requisite as is the ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines. You will be a confident, self-motivated team player.
