About the job…

We are seeking 2 Nightshift Machine Operators to support the rapid expansion of our business and strengthen our busy manufacturing facilities. The roles are new openings which have come about due to the continuing progression of Xtrac.

The persons appointed will play a fundamental part in the manufacturing of our innovative transmission systems used by the World’s top racing teams including Formula 1, IndyCar, Sportscar and Rally. Reporting to the Gearcutting, Grinding and Ratio manager you will be responsible for operating and running CNC Turning, Hobbing, Milling and Laser Etching machines. The successful candidates will inspect visually and dimensionally with a variety of hand held instruments, complete all necessary process documentation, pack in appropriate packaging and relocate to the next operation.  

About you…

We are seeking an individual who has been educated to minimum GCSE level, having undertaken an apprenticeship or currently in the midst of completing one is desirable but is not essential. Having a mechanical/engineering background or interest is essential alongside having knowledge of the manufacturing process.

Understanding and awareness of manufacturing processes including CNC Turning, Hobbing, Milling and Laser Etching is desirable however, we will train the successful candidate in any areas they require.

The successful candidate will be a good team player who has a keen eye for detail. They will have PC skills including using Microsoft Word and Excel and have strong organisational skills. The aptitude to train across a range of machines and processes is fundamental. Having the capability to manager their own workload and meet set deadlines is a must alongside being able to reliably record setting and production times using our ERP system.
